My career aspiration is to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and I plan to launch a non-profit organization, offering low-cost therapy to adolescent girls. Therefore, I was placed directly at the AnnieRuth Foundation.
During my internship experience, I have gained invaluable knowledge and wisdom. I’ve had the opportunity to work directly under the CEO and Founder of the AnnieRuth Foundation, and recognize how her character, communication skills, and grit help her run the organization. From this, I’ve grown in my communication skills and gained soft skills, such as patience, challenging my peers without diminishing their efforts, and so much more. I am also gaining the skill of leadership during my experience, as I am the 2025 Senior Program Coordinator. Within this role, I am the manager of two young women, who have the title of Program Coordinator. My role in the team is to plan, schedule and delegate tasks, and lastly, quality checking the coordinators’ work.
Participating in the AnnieRuth Foundation’s summer internship has been a life-changing experience and has set the foundation for me to build my professional and entrepreneurial skills. This program has set me on a great career path. Thank you AnnieRuth Foundation!
