My career aspiration is to be a graphic/digital artist because I’m interested in drawing on a device like a tablet, computer or any other and creating visual arts on technology, to expand my knowledge on everything arts and visuals. I was placed to complete my internship in Client Focused Media, a marketing business that is centered on clients and making their brand greater and more measurable. They include interviews, virtual or in the office, put on shows and episodes, working with cameras and photography and recording live buzz to certain brands.
A few projects I’ve completed were about 10 graphic social posts, 5 for an organization called King of the Beach and 5 posts for a technological business, which to used to market their company and to promote a fishing tournament. Also, I’ve created a little graphic flyer to promote the AnnieRuth Foundation’s 13th anniversary and dessert reception. And as for recent projects, the most I have done is graphic posts for a food organization for specific holidays. These projects are easy for me, but they were created in Canva and that led me to be creative with the colors, fonts, backgrounds, and how to place in logos and photos of those businesses. Also, these projects are fully original graphic posts for that specific business and were going to be used for the business, so while making them, I needed to replicate their style like with their groups of color, specific fonts, what photos of theirs I can include, and many others.
As for participating in the AnnieRuth Foundation’s summer internship, it was helpful and a good start to pursuing a career of something specific in the visual arts, particularly graphic/digital arts. Participating in the 10-month training seminar was important for me to learn about the fundamentals of being an intern and earning a job like how to manage being in a work environment, communicating with employees, what to wear at work, knowing how to keep track of your finances and payments, and many others. I view this experience as a starting point for the future and since I’m going to my senior year, I am planning to update my resume with the experiences so that I am better positioned for getting into the college of my choice, securing scholarships, and landing employment opportunities.
