My career goal is to become an attorney, focusing on criminal justice and public policy. I’m passionate about standing up for those who may not have a voice and working to ensure people are treated fairly within the legal system. Through the AnnieRuth Foundation’s Summer Internship Program, I was placed at Middleton Law Firm, where I got a firsthand look at how the legal field works and what it takes to be successful in it.
During my internship, I helped with organizing case files, researching legal documents, and sitting in client meetings. I also had the opportunity to observe courtroom procedures and learn how attorneys prepare for their cases. Through this experience, I gained skills like time management, attention to detail, and professional communication. I also learned the importance of confidentiality and staying organized in a fast-paced environment that will be useful no matter what career path I follow.
Participating in the AnnieRuth Foundation’s Summer Internship Program helped me grow both personally and professionally. It gave me the chance to explore my interests, build my confidence, and connect with mentors who encouraged and challenged me. This experience has helped confirm my passion for law and has better prepared me for college, my future career, and everything in between. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity.
