Student Internship Experiences

Enlightening, deepening, and bountiful would be the three best words to describe my internship with The Church of Eleven22. It was evident that it was an environment where coworkers strive earnestly to work for the glory of God and build one another up in the Body of Christ.

The team I was assigned to, the Multiplications team – its purpose being local and global missions – eagerly taught me what they did and taught me how to use it for the glory of God. Throughout my time with them, I was blessed to be given multiple occasions for spiritually enriching conversations with realistically applicable wisdom. Specifically in tasks, I would fill in where help was most needed. This translated to organizing assets and short-term mission supplies, creating spreadsheets and systems, and contributing input where requested. My manager and team were adamant that I not only work but learn while doing so. I was able to speak with pastors, missionaries, other staff members, and people whose heart and soul lived for the mission of God’s Gospel. It was extraordinary.

In my short time there, I learned and grew much more than I expected going into the internship. Not only did I gain the knowledge behind missions and many other processes I wasn’t aware of, but I also found a community as earnest for the multiplication of God’s Good News as I am. Through the honest fellowship of mentors and peers, I discovered a more humble and genuine approach to the Great Commission that I will treasure always. I am so grateful to the Lord for giving me this blessing and to the AnnieRuth Foundation through whom He made it happen.
