My career aspiration is to become a real estate broker. After completing the training and development segment, I was placed at LaRosa Realty Jacksonville to complete an internship experience (under the leadership of Diana and Dwight Anderson). I have always been interested in being a real estate agent intel’s, through my internship experience I have gained a substantial amount of knowledge about the industry.
I’ve attended multiple “coaching sessions” which are when Diana and Dwight guide agents through the real estate process. Sitting in those sessions I got insight on the challenges that some agents may face day to day, and how to solve them. Adding on, I’ve attended both virtual and in person meetings with agents and brokers. They were exceedingly educational and taught different vocabulary and processes that go into selling a home. Not only that, but I’ve also visited numerous properties which helped me to get an understanding of how to do a house showing, what to look for when inspecting a house, along with what to say when showing your client their potential home. I’ve met a diverse number of agents and have gotten lots of encouragement and tips on how to be successful.
Participating in the AnnieRuth Foundation’s summer internship program was instrumental in preparing me for future success because it allowed me to get my foot in the door and network with countless people. Many go into real estate not knowing where to start or the steps they need to take to sell a home but due to the education I’ve received, I’ve gotten loads of information on how to get my career started. I have built countless relationships with people that could help me along the way. Without this internship I wouldn’t know where I would be, so I am forever thankful for this opportunity.
