I’m Reginald Thomas and my career aspiration is to become a Business Owner. My father always instilled in me to become my own boss because you then have the power to shape others’ lives for the better. I have always learned to strive to be a great leader by working hard, being prepared, and staying humble. Surprisingly, while demonstrating those attributes at my school, I was able to meet a wonderful lady named Ms. Dee Wilcox. She introduced me to the Annie Ruth program and now I can do virtual tasks involving marketing under the direction of my mentor Mario Payne. It has been a blessing and honor to be a part of the Annieruth Foundation.

During my internship experience I learned how to navigate different resources to maximize leads and increase productivity in any business I intend to create. The first thing that I was assigned was to use onlinejobs.ph to find potential assistants that I could hire for a low amount to help with any problems I may have. My favorite task though, was working with Manychat. Manychat is basically software that allows you to communicate with your customers using mobile devise such as email, Instagram, SMS, and more. With Manychat, I was able to make a sequence to where if someone messaged me with any trigger, the platform would automatically send them a message and lead them into a conversation from there. Ultimately, I was able to find valuable information about lead tendencies and learn how to build my own sequences. Throughout this experience, I have realized and learned how much work needs to be put in to attract clients in the marketing aspect of a business.

Becoming a participant in the AnnieRuth Foundation’s Summer Internship Program has been imperative in ensuring my success in my career aspiration, and will continue to be a catalyst of eager young minds seeking prosperity. The knowledge and connections gained through hard work in the program is undeniable and inspiring. The like-minded people you meet through various activities and events are truly valuable and I am highly grateful for this opportunity. Thank you, Annieruth Foundation, for shaping me for the future.
