Finance has been a core part of my life, with my mom’s business and my dad’s company. I always admired their passion for their fields and found myself nagging at their side, asking if they needed help. After my 10-month long experience at Annie-Ruth, I found myself assigned to TOAMS Financial, where I intended to explore the vast field of finance and business. I looked forward to the exposure I would receive upon working alongside a professional with copious amounts of working experience as a financial advisor of a prestigious institution.   During the internship there were several challenges that I faced.  At first, I struggled to meet certain demands and found myself falling behind. However, through the support of my mentor, Mario Payne, I found myself seamlessly completing assignments given to me. Through these assignments, I gained real-world experience dealing with various systems and applications pertaining to the back end of financial systems. Through this, I learned to efficiently maneuver and navigate crucial applications such as Excel and Go High-level.

Additionally, I was tasked with researching how to integrate AI into certain processes. I researched several ways to integrate AI and gained crucial researching skills in the process. Moreover, this experience added a sense of practicality, since I was working with the company’s database and clientele. I believe that this internship simulated working experience in the real world through various methods.

Overall, I am thankful for this opportunity from the Annieruth Foundation, as I gained crucial skills that would help me as I pursue a career in Business/Finance. From receiving mentorship, all the way to improving time management skills, my internship was a memorable experience that will set me up for success.
