Learning in a single-gender educational environment has its benefits. Research supports that single gender education tends to empower students, boost self-confidence, and allow students to excel in an environment free from opposite-sex distractions.
HeSIPs is a spin-off of our summer internship program. It’s a platform for high school boys to gather in a safe space and freely discuss topics that they may not feel comfortable discussing in the presence of girls. Professional male figures, from across the nation, provide guidance and support as they focus on:
- authentic leadership
- effective communication skills
- positive views of masculinity
- healthy concepts of relationships
- health, wellness, and personal hygiene
- financial management
During these sessions, young men learn from each other and build camaraderie as they gain essential skills that will assist as they move towards accomplishing their personal goals.
