About Dr. Tra’Chella Johnson Foy

Dr. Tra’Chella Johnson Foy is a native of Jacksonville, FL.  She is the eldest of two children born to Elaine Span and Lovett Johnson Sr.  Foy graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School and went on to the University of Florida where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. She completed her Medical Training at Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her Residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.

Humble beginnings

Growing up was not easy for Foy. She grew up in some of the poorest communities of Jacksonville including Hollybrook Homes Apartments.  Due to her parents struggle with drug addiction and mental health issues, it was difficult for them to provide proper care for their children, whom they loved very much. As a result, Foy became accustomed to living with relatives, family friends, or those who were kind enough to house and feed her.

The turning point

Although the odds were stacked against her, Foy decided that her lot “could always be worse” and that everything she endured was “training for greatness to come”. She believed in God’s divine plan for her life and embraced the notion that she is here to make an impact in the world.
