Sheila Brown-Jefferson is currently employed by the Clara White Mission as a Life Management/Housing Coordinator. Previous jobs include: a member of the Cash Reconciliation Team for Unified Managed Accounts at Merrill Lynch; an elementary school teacher with the Duval County Public School System (she was also the Magnet Lead Teacher); Director of All God’s Children Child Care Center and Administrative Assistant at First Coast Counseling and Education Center.
Jefferson also worked for the City of Jacksonville for over twenty years serving in various roles which included Account Manager in the Narcotics Division at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office; Personnel Clerk in the Personnel Division and Senior Account Technician for the Accounting/Payroll Division.
Jefferson is passionate about the personal growth and development of others. She enjoys volunteering and helping those who are less fortunate. She served 5 years as Chairwoman for Imani Phi Christ (a national mentoring program for teenage girls between the ages of 13-19). She also serves as a leader in many capacities at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. She is the organizer of the “Bishop’s Walk” (an annual fundraiser which honors the late Bishop Tom E. Diamond). Jefferson is a Financial Educator with Real Sense/Duval County Extension (a program of United Way) and is also a certified Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Facilitator. In June 2012, Jefferson founded Blessing Others All the Time, Inc. (B.O.A.T.T.), a non-profit organization that collects and distributes personal hygiene items to homeless people in Duval and surrounding counties. Jefferson gives all glory, honor and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing her to use her time, talent, treasure and testimony to be a blessing to others.
Jefferson earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Management from Florida State Community College.
