Saturday, December 21, 2019
The AnnieRuth Foundation hosted its 7th Annual Christmas party at Desert Winds & Caravan Trails Apartments (underserved communities located on the south side of Jacksonville). Youth ages 0 – 16 and senior citizens received toys, gifts and Christmas stockings. The entire community enjoyed food, music, arts & crafts and outdoor games.

The AnnieRuth Foundation hosted a Meet & Greet for participants of the 2020 Summer Internship Program. Participants and their parents/guardians were required to attend this session so that they could understand expectations and requirements of the program.

The AnnieRuth Foundation, in collaboration with Perfectly Suited Career Consulting, hosted its inaugural #ROYAL Youth Leadership Explosion (ROYAL, Reclaiming our Youth as Leaders). This city-wide, youth leadership conference took place at the main library (downtown Jacksonville). The purpose is to inspire, encourage and empower youth to exhibit leadership behaviors at home, in the community, at school and on their job. The target audience was 350 (which included youth ages 12 – 24 and their parents/guardians).

2019 Summer Internship Award Recipients began their summer internship experience. This year, we have aspiring doctors, lawyers, crime scene investigators, veterinarians, zoologists, medical professionals, human resources professionals, engineers, architects, biologists, researchers, film directors, journalists and marketers.

The AnnieRuth Foundation participated in the 16th Annual Putt & Crawl Charity Golf Challenge on Jacksonville Beach. Hundreds of golfers visited sites to learn about the great work that nonprofits do on the First Coast, putt and give donations to further the cause.

Participants of the AnnieRuth Foundation attended Orientation today. During this session, participants learned rules and expectations associated with the internship experience. They also signed the Terms & Conditions Agreement. Parents, mentors and financial sponsors also attended the meeting.

The AnnieRuth Foundation announced winners of the Sgt. Major Debra J. Wilcox Scholarship Award and the Erno Davis Scholarship Award. The announcement was made at ‘s summer internship program advanced to the semi-final phase of the program, the formal interview. Aerotek hosted the segment of the program; providing their facility and 10 Human Resources professionals to complete the interviews.

A certified youth etiquette facilitator taught participants rules associated with fine dining as they enjoyed a lovely dinner; surrounded by lovely art work and the St. Johns River.

Participants of the AnnieRuth Foundation’s Summer Internship Program participated in an off-site team-building experience. Participants met at the headquarters of the AnnieRuth Foundation. While there, they interacted with each other, played games, enjoyed music and ate lots of good foods. Participants also rehearsed for the upcoming fashion show, The Sky is the Limit.
